It’s almost that time of the year when Apple unveils the next successor to their flagship iPhone models. But Apple has kept a tight lip on most of the features and developments, leaving many of us in anticipation.
We did extensive research and managed to gather relevant data on the soon-to-come iPhone 14.
Let’s get started
Release Date
We’ve seen speculations about the release date of the iPhone 14, but most people expect it to come around September (when Apple usually unveils its iPhones).
However, there may be delays due to stalled production. The lockdowns past lock down in China may slow things down.
Price
From what we’ve gathered, the base iPhone 14 will share a similar price with the iPhone 13 of around $799, while iPhone 14 max will cost $100 more.
On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro may cost around $1,099, and the Pro Max will be $1,199. We may have to wait for the release date to see the actual price of the iPhone 14 models.
Display
According to Ming-Chi Kuo (a reputable leaker), the base iPhone 14 and iPhone Pro would be 6.1 inches, while the Max and Pro Max would be 6.7 inches.
Also, other leaks suggest the cheaper models will retain a 60Hz screen, while the Pro and Pro Max will feature 120Hz screens.
Some even say that all the models may come with 120Hz. However, these rumors have not been confirmed.
Camera
It looks like iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will have triple-lens cameras.
In addition, several analysts claim that both the Pro and Pro Max models will use 48MP main cameras, which is 12MP more than the current models. This upgrade will enable them to record 8k videos.
Battery Life and Charging
The iPhone 14 battery may be bigger and better than previous models. An unofficial source claims that the iPhone 14 may feature the following battery specifications:
- iPhone 14 (standard) – 3,279mAh battery
- iPhone 14 Pro – 3,200mAh battery
- iPhone 14 Max – 4,325Ah battery
- iPhone 14 Pro Max – 4,323mAh battery
If these are true, they will be upgraded on the current models (except for the Pro Max version). But keep in mind that this is still speculation.
In terms of charging, Apple might stick with the lightning port instead of using the MagSafe charger, which enables wireless charging.
As of now, it seems the wireless charging capabilities will wait for later models like the iPhone 15.
Design
Analysts expect the iPhone 14 to look very much like the iPhone 13 model. However, the Pro and Pro Max will use a punch hole camera, not a notch. This slight difference means you won’t be able to reuse the same phone case for all the models.
Also, the iPhone 14 wouldn’t come in mini sizes, as Apple has reported that users don’t like it that much.
Processor and Storage
The iPhone 14 is expected to come with the A26 Bionic chipset (an upgrade on the A15 chipset used in older models).
However, some analysts believe that the base iPhone 14 and 14 Mac may still use the A15 Bionic chipset from last year.
Also, all four models will come with 6GB RAM, but the Pro Max may feature up to 8GB RAM, and a storage space of up to 2TB.
A Final Word
Remember that most of these details are just rumors and speculations surrounding the iPhone 14, and they have been unconfirmed. Let’s have to wait till September to see what Apple has for us.
