Instagram Chronological Feed

Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri, introduced three new options that allow users to choose the order of Instagram posts on their devices’ home screen

These options are:

  • Home: This is the regular Instagram feed feature that ranks content based on former engagements
  • Favorites: This feature show posts from a user’s favorite accounts
  • Following: The option shows a chronological feed of the accounts that users follow.

Instagram Live Schedule

With this feature, content creators and brands can schedule Instagram Live for up to 90 days, with the opportunity to test their Live sessions before the deal day.


This third feature is a fascinating way for creators and influencers to make passive income on Instagram. It enables creators to earn directly from the platform while building a cordial relationship with their most engaged followers. 

There are 3 types of subscriptions

  • Subscriber Badges: This is a badge that differentiates subscribers in the creators’ comments and DMs.
  • Subscriber Lives: With this feature, creators can go live specifically for their subscribers to connect and engage better.
  • Subscriber Stories: Creators can create exclusive stories for their subscribers and use the interactive story stickers with their most engaged audience

February 2022 Updates

In February, the long-awaited 3D avatars were also launched. These visual representations are an upgrade to static social media profiles. Similar to Snapchat Avatars, users can now create a version of themselves using the avatar elements on the platform. 

March 2022 Updates 

The Enhanced Tags graced the Instagram platform in March. This feature enables creators to tag all the collaborators who helped them to bring their ideas to life. 

With the Enhanced Tags, users can give credit to everyone that contributed from “behind the scenes” to particular posts. This is a great way for designers, makeup artists, photographers, and other creatives to get recognition for their crafts and showcase their brands.

To use the Enhance Tag Feature, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open your Instagram Application 
  2. Tap the (+) in the top right corner
  3. Create a new post and tap (Next)
  4. Make the necessary edits, then tap (Next)
  5. Once you have added a caption, tap (Tag People)
  6. Select (Add Tag) and search the contributors
  7. To see the creator category, tap (Show Profile Category) 
  8. Tap (Done)
  9. Lastly, tap (Share)

And voilà! the tags and the creator category will appear on the Instagram post. Tapping on a tag will show a bottom drawer with the direct links to follow the tagged collaborators.
