Google flagship smartphone – the Pixel 5. Today, we’ll review the Google Pixel 5A and discuss its main features.
As the name suggests, the new Pixel 5 is a 5G network enabled. It may not be regarded as a low-budget phone because it is priced at $449. At the same time, it is not inferior to the flagships in photo capabilities, thanks to its excellent optics and proprietary processing algorithms.
The Pixel 5a 5G comes with an 18W block, enough to quickly charge the device. Also, in the box, you will find a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable and an OTG adapter.
The Pixel 5a 5G design is similar to the Google Pixel 5. There is a fingerprint scanner and a central camera unit on the back panel, consisting of two modules. The traditional side buttons which includes the power-button and volume control buttons are included in the phone design.
You can only install one physical SIM card here, and there is no memory card slot. The smartphone offers maximum protection from dust and water (IP67 standard). At first sight, the case seems to be plastic, but under this plastic is metal. A strange decision, but the main thing is that it is pleasant for the hand.
The smartphone has a 6.34-inch screen, minimal bezels around the display, and Full HD+ resolution. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 with 60 Hz. The smartphone has an excellent margin of brightness, although it is inferior to the Pixel 5. You can configure up to three color profiles in the settings menu: adaptive, bright, or natural.
The smartphone has a Snapdragon 765G processor installed in last year’s Pixel 5. It’s not a flagship chip, but it is enough for all tasks.
The smartphone has one memory configuration of 6GB/128GB. Of course, there is no space for a memory card.
Pixel series always comes with excellent camera features, and the Google Pixel 5a 5G is not an exception. The smartphone’s primary camera has two lenses – a wide-angle 12.2 MP with optical stabilization and an ultra-wide-angle 16 MP.
The pictures turn out to be of high quality in virtually any condition, and Google’s algorithms, as always, make the difference. The colors in the photographs are natural, the details are excellent, and the skin tone is as close to natural as possible.
Portrait photos also turn out great, but the smartphone often misses points due to the lack of its telephoto lens.
The Pixel 5a 5G can record 4K video at 60 frames per second. The front camera of this smartphone is 8 MP.
Google Pixel 5A has 4680 mAh. The smartphone provides about 7-7.5 hours of screen time.
The kit includes an 18W charging unit that can charge the smartphone up to 40-45% in half an hour. It takes about 90 minutes to charge the smartphone to 100%.
Based on some features, the smartphone does not reach the flagships, and formally, it does not claim such a title. However, it has an excellent camera compared to its competitors that are selling for the same price. The smartphone is moisture-proof and supports eSIM.
